The 10 Most Annoying Things On the Internet

There's plenty to love about the Internet. But there is also plenty to loathe. Ridiculous banner ads, the crappy quality of the vast majority of Web video, and complex Web 2.0 services without any support.
PC World surveyed its readers and found out what they think the Top 10 Web Annoyances are. From Ticket Master to trolls (those people who post annoying, nonstop comments on forums), there's plenty of annoying stuff you'll recognize in this piece.
Online forms -- a pet peeve of ours -- makes the list. These overly complex forms that ask for a head scratching amount of personal information just to read an article or post on a forum are, to put it lightly, a bit pain in the ___. We can't count the number of times we've spent five minutes filling out a form, only to have missed a "required field" that wasn't marked clearly. Or the instances where we've input an answer in an unsuitable format that had no instructions, only to have the form clear itself completely and tell us we messed something up (but not tell us what!).
For all the convenience it has brought us, the Internet sure is annoying.
How about you? What do you think is the most annoying stuff on the Internet?

What annoys me the most (except for on-line ads) are the religious/Jesus/God posts, NO MATTER the tropic! I'm sick of people quoting from the Bible. If I wanted a sermon, I'd go to church!!

ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS THAT ANNOY ME IS THESE PEOPLE THAT LIKE TO START TROUBLE WITH THE OTHER POSTERS. MAKING ALL KIND OF STUPID REMARKS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE REPORT THAT THEY ARE ON!! AND SOME OF THE LANGUAGE THAT IS USED WHEN THEY DO THIS!!WISH AOL WOULD BLOCK SOME OF THESE IDIOTS!!

Since I was 5 years old I knew I was gay. At the age of 20, the religious and family pressure forced me to marry a woman. I was so unhappy. Then 4 years later I told my wife who's response was, "I love you anyways" but I told her that no one can change how God created me. I then told my mom, dad and 2 sisters. My mom stopped talking to me for 6 months. My wife kept my kids away from me for over a year. I had to fight for rights in court. Eventually she left me have visitation rights. Now at 38, I was diagnosed with a lung tumor(Sarcoidosis Stage 3-4) and recently finished chemotherapy. Many times as I received those chemotherapy injections, I felt close to death and asked my mom if she would finally accept me for being gay and she replied,"no, its against what the bible teaches". http://philipmercadante.blogspot.com/

SOMETIMES AOL ITSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say, while I enjoy debating various topics on forums, I can't stand clicking on a newsblog to see an irrelevant rant on gays, blacks, illegal immegrants, whites, democracts, republicans, etc. And generally the user is misquoting the Bible to back up their argument of hate. It boils my blood to read that crap, but at the same time, there's no use trying to argue with the people who post it because they're totally convinced they're 100% right. So I just wind up feeling frustrated. I think AOL should delete those posts if they have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Just a thought, could'nt AOL just open up another forum, titled (get it off your chest). that way people that dont want to enter into an individual chat room, would be able to post and argue their Politics, Religion, or anyone of a number of topics. That may help (may) cut done on the number of people posting on unrelated news articles. Sorry about my punct.

I want to kill whenever I recieve an email that I am to forward to at least 3 people, or else....Please......spare me.

One thing that annoys me are "chain" email(s). You know, the ones I have to foward to atleat 5 people within the next 10 minutes or so, so that nothing "bad" will happen.
The one thing that really annoys me about the internet is these people who have nothing better to post about a particular article, other than other people's poor spelling or grammar. I say, so what! may be even I have that problem. Who cares? This practice is called, believe it or not, "discrimination". You use it as freely as you want, only because of the anonymity of the internet, only because YOU couldn't get away with it in the real world. Here, anyone can "discriminate" against anyone, anything, or even any race, creed, color, religon, & even sexual preference. In this case, the keyboard is mightier than the sword.
A. NonymousNov 5th 2007 2:48AM
Correction: in my last post, I stated that "may be I have that problem" what I meant to add to that was my poor spelling and/or improper use of grammar. I for one, am not going to correct anyone. Hey, were human right?

The things that annoy me the most on the Internet are:
Constant stories about Britney Spears.
How some have to bring race into almost all blogs.
Ones who correct everyone's spelling and grammer.
Annoying that some put down others to try and make themselves look good. It really makes them look bad, but I'm just sick of seeing it.

I hate all of the surveys that come up and go on and on and on.

Adds (or e-mails) for loans. Like I was just thinking about borrowing a couple hundred thousand dollars, oh and here's a place I can get it!!
RebeccaNov 5th 2007 1:37PM
There are several people on here that I agree with. First, one thing that annoys me is the people who continuously repeat the same comment over and over on the discussion boards. Another, the people who blame the president, the republicans, democrats or the liberals for every single problem this country is facing. And then we have the people who bring race and religion into the discussion, no matter what the topic is. So many people use disgusting language and it really gets out of hand. It's pretty bad when you have to go back to the 75th comment to actually read a comment on the topic of discussion.
And finally, the e-mails people send that tell you to send it to a certain number of people promising that if you do, something good will happen or you'll receive an unexpected reward of money or whatever.

I think the replies are more interesting than the subject. So many know, and so many don't know. I guess the question is "Who doesn't know they don't know?" People who claim to be so well versed and educated are very funny to me. I hate the pop up ads that get past the pop up blockers.
