Michael Bay Bites the Hand that Feeds Him
What Happened: Michael Bay, the high-octane, CGI-wielding filmmaker of such cinematic high-water marks as 'Pearl Harbor,' 'Armageddon,' and 'Transformers,' went off on late night online rant against his employers, Paramount Pictures, when they decided not to release films on Blu-ray discs but to take the HD-DVD route exclusively. In a post on his own blog under the heading of "Paramount pisses me off!" Bay wrote "No Transformers 2 for me! I want people to see my films in the best formats possible! For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks!" Since there's nothing to enjoy in his films other than some of the spectacular special effects, the sentiment seemed appropriate, although biting the hand that feeds you is rarely advisable.
Career Impact: Negligible. When Bay caved and said he'd discuss Transformers 2 with Paramount, he certainly lost any whiff of integrity he'd managed to conjure up during the whole incident, but summer blockbusters don't depend on integrity to rake in boatloads of cash.

Michael Bay had justified reason to blow off steam re/Paramount Pictures!! Why Not? Afterall as a filmmaker he has freedom of speech and common sense too! Don't think it was too much to ask - what about his contract with paramount regarding the format in which to release films? who was in charge of reviewing that?

Michael Bay is the main reason Transformers sucked period. If you make a movie based off a television show it should at resemble that show and cater to that audience. It amazes me how these hollywood people think they can take something from the past and bring it to the big screen without at least watching the original version first. I hope Michael Bay doesnt do Transformers 2 and whoever does, corrects the mistakes of this first one.

It's amusing that some people have panned this movie for not being true to the Cartoon. If they had made the movie as an animated feature it would have never reached the $$ figure it has. As far as being true to the past, anyone old enough to remember the old show should have grown up and moved on from toys and cartoons, those too young to remember can now find enjoyment in the direction the film took. All in all I enjoyed the movie for what it was, they did a great job

Bay didn't bite the hand that feeds. Bay IS the hand that feeds. With no one willing to make films, Paramount gets nothing, and will go bankrupt. The employer is not the one whom does all of the hard labor that makes a company move, but it is the employee and his blood sweat and tears that shine for the public to see. This entire article looks towards what is most powerful in the public eye, but the real power is who makes this company possible to succeed. Tell me something...With nothing but no good, lazy employees, will your company succeed? Exactly. Then treat them with respect, and discuss before making decisions over them.
