Lindsay Lohan's Rambling BlackBerry E-Mails

The day that local papers went digital was a dark one for Lindsay Lohan, who seems to have been an enthusiastic practitioner of B.U.I. -- BlackBerry-ing Under the Influence. Lohan's nimble little fingers fired off a late night strange, rambling manifesto in a group e-mail to her "friends and lawyers," that was quickly leaked to the New York Post's Page Six gossip column, where it was reprinted for all the world to see.

What Happened: One Nobel-Prize winning former Vice-President was doubtless alarmed the morning the story appeared as Lohan proclaimed "Al Gore will help me. He came up to me last night and said he would be very happy to have a conversation with me. If he is willing to help me, let's find out. Hilary [sic] Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Evan Metroplis [sic], and John Daur who works with them would be willing, if we just ask. If we just ASK."..." Her focus seems to be the irresponsible gossip-mongering by of the tabloid press (true that), but screwball turns of phrase such as "the way of the future-Howard Hughes" and messianic passages like "I have such an impact on younger generations and, as well as generations older than me...." didn't help her cause.

Career impact: Uncertain. Lohan is fresh out of painfully well-publicized stint in rehab with an as-yet-to-be-determined future in film and Gore's got the Nobel. Advantage: Gore.
