Top 11 Celebrity Messes Online

Open Mouth, Insert Foot, Then Other Foot
What Happened: The first America's Next Top Model, bride of Peter Brady (Christopher Knight), and former Hooters waitress Adrienne Curry can add another title to her resume: wacko blogger. In a recent post on her blog, Curry rails against Black History Month and BET -- even though "they play my favorite show of all time, 'In Living Color'" -- on the theory that both the holiday and the network are segregated and constitute discrimination. While there is certainly room for a dialogue on the topic, Curry misses that boat and instead spends paragraphs listing other groups who, in her view, suffered more and complained less than African Americans. Not exactly the diplomatic way to start a conversation -- not that anyone was probably interested in Curry's views on modern race relations, anyway.
Career Impact: Can't be good. As she's in the strange nether world of C-List celebrities who seem to exist more by mere osmosis from more successful and celebrated people, so it's hard to say where her fame or money really comes from. It's safe to say she won't be asked to the NAACP Image Awards this year, however.

Who is Jason Rowan (the person who wrote these articles)? Apparently he either doesn't read the information correctly to report it or manipulates it. He should have written one on himself for being U.I.C. (Under the Influence of Celebrities).

Hellooooooo "Turn on the television or go to a movie and 99% of the roles are White people" let's keep it real....the bottom line is $$$$$$$ if a different type of movie made more $$$$ than it would be in the movie theater.
Is BET racist? I don't know. How would people of any color feel about this...White Miss America, White News, White History Month, get it?
Speaking your mind is one of the benefits of living in this country. Feedom is not FREE!! Thank a Veteran

Yeah, BET is not owned by blacks anymore, which i find a little disturbing, but i mean, for god sakes, it's BET- BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION- key word being black; then at that half the show they air aren't always black created or owned. I mean for once black people have something to be proud of and now it's considered a racist due to the lack of other races. Latinos have their own channel, in fact, a couple, no one makes a big thing out of that, and for awhile MTV focused music that, at the time, white people listened too; no one mad a biggie out of that; which brings me to my next question.....Why is it that everytime black people create something or dominate something it's looked down on? Example, some one told me that the card game spades is a n**** game because mostly black people play it or saying that ebonics is bad because mostly black folks speak it; mind you that English is not all that proper either in my opinion' that just sound so ignorant. Look finally we have a month to be proud of and now it's considered racist because we're celebrating our people and what they did, now it's being critizied because it's not acknowledging other races; that doesn't make any sense.....THINK PEOPLE THINK

[Mike Chartier QUOTE]BET IS 100% RACIST....ALONG WITH BLACK HISTORY MONTH NOT TO MENTION OTHER RACIST GROUPS LIKE LULAC,LA RAZA(WHICH IS ACTUALLY A COMPLETE UNAMERICAN ORGANIZATION).....LET'S GET REAL AMERICA IS BEING FED THIS GARBAGE IDEA THAT WHITE PEOPLE HAVE CAUSED ALL THESE OTHER PEOPLE SO MUCH PROBLEMS AND ONLY WHITE PEOPLE CAN BE RACIST.
RACISM COMES FROM ALL ANGLES AND SOME OF THEM EVEN GET TO ADD HYPOCRICY TO THEIR RACISM.[/quote]
1. BET couldn't POSSIBLY be racist. It's owned by VIACOM, and we all know they aren't African-American.
2. BET is a cable channel w/ a "specialized" audience, just like SPIKE, ESPN, COMEDY CENTRAL, E!, OXYGEN, DISNEY, SCI-FI, FIT-TV (is that the correct name?), etc. MOST cable channels are geared to a specific audience so, are you REALLY saying that African-Americans don't DESERVE to see themselves represented in LOTS of movies, tv shows, religious broadcasts, et alia?!? If that's the case, then sports afficionados shouldn't have the right to watch football/baseball/basketball games and commentaries...right?
Where's the difference??
3. As for "La Raza" being "a complete un-American organization," I beg to differ. This country was BUILT on ppl from other countries coming here, becoming citizens, working to help build this country and making it stronger. (Mike, where are YOUR grandparents from??) ...but, if you disagree, then I guess the ONLY TRUE AMERICANS are the NATIVE Americans.
4. White ppl have the primary power (in THIS country!) so, obviously, they are going to get the blame. You can't blame powerless ppl for Global Warming; Presidential, Judicial, Senate and House f'ups; the lack of jobs and/or prosperity among the majority of Americans; Enron; MCI; etc. So stop whining like a little girl, and accept the inevitable.

As an Black person I have to say this. Why is the dumb part of America so obsessed with what we do? Like we are the only minorities.
What is really wrong with "Black History Month?" How is it different from "Saint Patrick's Day?" (I'm part Irish too so don't start). It's just a celebration of our people and that's all. What's wrong with having BET? The Gay community has "LOGO" and there's nothing wrong with it.
Anyone that supported that mess has to be about as crazy as she is. She just wanted attention. That was some dumb thing to get on a rant about. How about ranting about all the violence of Black youth and doing something about it?!
No, she rather take away something that means something positive. Sounds like a KKK move to me.

I do not agree with Ms. Curry's statements about the Afircan American's Black History Month it is a time to give rememberance to people who have made the world a better place, Martin Luther King Jr.'s death was mourned by the world not just our nation he was the equivalence of Mahatma Gandhi. As for the comments made by Just Wonderin' please do not put all whites in the same boat as the historically cruel people especially not the Nazi party, it would be the same as group all blacks in with the portion of the Hutu population that committed the geonocide of the Tutsis or Latinos with the Aztecs that slaughter all the peaceful tribes that encompassed their empire or Asians with the dictorial Japan's Rape of Nanking in which thousands of Chinese were tortured, raped and slaughtered by Japan. While your arguements are used by many they hold no real substantial meaning because every group whether white, black, latino, or asain have all committed atrocities and the most recent examples aren't of whites but of African and Middle Eastern countries. Don't worry I know if you post back you'll just throw some more white committed humanity crimes or claim "freedom of speech" all I'm asking is for you not to group people with their race because the sword can cut both ways.

just wonderin is just wanderin around in their own brain obviously african americans should be mad at europeans and africans fro ending up in slavery because africans(their own people) are the ones who sold them off to europeans in the triangle trade and americans just used what they paid for
joshNov 16th 2007 6:47PM
and if whites were so bad they wouldve never had you released from slavery or paid you for it

I've noticed a lot of people trying to pull the 'slavery' card. "Oh, yes, others have suffered but none like the black folk 'cause they were slaves." In case you haven't realized, slavery is not now nor was it ever related to a color or ethnicity. Rome took thousands of POW as slaves from anywhere they conquered and it didn't matter what color their skin was. Equally, other countries have histories that deal with slavery, too, regardless of whether that's actually what it's called.
The truth of the matter is that anytime ANYONE, it doesn't matter who you are, feels that they are losing an argument, they jump straight to racism. "It's cause I'm black, ain't it?" I live in Alabama and I have lived in Memphis, but am not native to either of those states, and I can honestly say that racism is alive and kicking down here.
Am I a racist? You might say that. More than likely I am biased against people who don't seek to learn before they speak, or who can't string a sentence together in proper English. Please; the language is butchered enough as it is. I don't care if it's black people talking in real life or people using netspeak in fiction on the web; if you can't admit to your own ignorance by taking advice in stride, I have no respect for you.
Just because this woman decided to point out that 'Black History Month' is against the Constitution, or whatever, shouldn't be enough to spawn a bunch of rubbernecking, tabloid-devouring fools. Let the girl say what she wants! If you don't agree, that's fine, but honestly!
Personally I don't care if it's Black History Month or not; I'll treat every day and every person the same, whether the ghetto gutterats are black, white, brown, or polka-dot orange. If you can't let events that occured over a century ago GO, then what's to stop Britain from looking back at us and saying, "Well, since you did initially belong to us, we're thinking about taking you back now. SO sorry we just can't forget the past."
People just need to get down off their high-ass horses and leave other people alone unless someone actually poses a threat to society. The last time I checked, calling a holiday ignorant does NOT call for millions of people to flip out, especially when it's online words.
Deity forbid that people actually grow a brain.
