AT&T's Profits Skyrocket With the Help of the iPhone

Well, AT&T investors certainly have something to cheer about. The company revealed its third quarter profits had climbed 41 percent, from $2.17 billion to $3.06 billion, primarily through its wireless division, and with the help of the iPhone.
The wireless division managed to add two million subscribers, which helped offset the loss of subscribers on the company's landlines. AT&T said that it had activated 1.1 million iPhones, and that roughly 40 percent of those were new subscribers, making up a large chunk of that gain.
Guess those naysayers that were low-balling original iPhone sales have some serious egg on their faces.
