Worst Airbrushed Celebrities of 2007 - So Far
Believe it or not, celebrities are fat and zitty like the rest of us -- they just happen to have a secret weapon to fight flab and flaws that we mere mortals don't. We're talking about airbrushing, of course.
For those unfamiliar with the practice, airbrushing (aka Photoshopping, aka retouching) is when a photo is digitally manipulated to make the subject look better. That includes everything from magically erasing pimples to instantly shaving off a few pounds. The practice is so common, you can just about assume that any posed photo you see in a magazine has been altered in one way or another.
As you can imagine, airbrushing is not without its critics who argue that the practice is harmful to real people because it creates an unattainable ideal of beauty -- particularly for women. For example, this past July, the women's magazine Redbook came under fire when the above un-retouched cover photo of Faith Hill surfaced. And just this week, TMZ called out Jodi Foster for her suspiciously youthful appearance on the cover of this month's California Style magazine.
Yes, 2007 has already provided lots of airbrushing hubbub, and as you'll see not all of it surrounds female photo subjects. In fact, it's not just TV, movie and music stars, either -- politicians and athletes are having digital work done too. Keep reading to uncover the truth.

Air brush Faith any way you want and she's still a "hot" 10.

yeah, and shrinked her from a size 6 to a size 2... and shrunk her arms, got rid of her collarbone that stuck out, shaved off the little bit of skin hanging on her back at the top of her dress, removed the puffy eyes, and erased her laugh lines... what BS... if we all had photographers and makeup artists like her, we'd all be hot!! oh yeah, remember when some magazine took the face of julia roberts and stuck it on her body/dress from a picture 3-4 years before? what BS... i wanna know what kind of photoshop they have, all mine does is remove red eyes and crop out ex boyfriends LOL

I like and admire those celebs who come on TV and print with their blemishes and wrinkles. I can relate more to them. When I see people who obviously look fake on magazine covers, I think they just look ridiculous. I would be embarrassed to have my picture so enhanced and then see people in real life, sans airbrushing. Years ago I worked on an actress' book and video and the difference between her picture on the covers and what she looked like in person was quite embarrassing. I would rather everyone see how I really look, just not too much of a close up!

Publishing air-brushed photos and the resulting false presentation, along with anorexic "high fashion" models and folks in the entertainment industry in the news, are the main reason for the insecurity in young women and men around the world who believe that's the way they have to look! This results in eating disorders in teenagers and young adults, and deaths. Faith Hill is absolutely stunning, and natural, without the stupid airbrush work! I have one message for magazine editors and publishers: "GET REAL!"
