It seems to me that A seems darker than the rest of the gray squares,I focused on if they matched the rest of the suares of the "same color" and B is obviously not the same color as the rest of the white ones. But it still does not look exactly like it, also computers don't exactly have real sight so they can't really make out the difference of two different colors of the same catagorie, infact of course I'm only a kid, so what should I know.

A is not darker than the other simerly shaded squares.. as be is not lighter than the similer every other square

chiggers410 says:
It's the letter "B" that appears darker. Not the square you idiot.

NO CHIGGERS, you are wrong. The squares themselves and not the letters in them are the same color. If you print this out it is very obvious and then once you finally see that they are the same color it is hard to see them any different. Pretty cool illusion! As another person said; it makes you wonder how many times you thought you saw something you weren't really seeing. Hmmmmm!

It's like squares A and B are actually the third shad of grey on that board. Both A and B are a lighter shade of grey than the dark squares but a little darker than the lightest squares. I had to print it out as other's have suggested and BY GOSH - A and B are the same color! Holy Carp! Cool illusion!

A looks darker to ME , How many hours to you have to look at it? LOL This has to be a trick question ? LOL

The secret is -- look at the letter--, not the whole square.
LoryNov 23rd 2007 8:39PM
Oh too cool! Go to the web site where this originated from. It is explained in full there and if you weren't able to see that the squares are indeed the same color here, you will be able to see it at the web site this originated from. What a really cool illusion. AWESOME! I love this crap. heh heh heh

Bet CHIGGERS is blushing now for having called everyone an idiot when they themselves had it all wrong. ROFL Just go to the web site where this originated from to see why this illusion works. Very cool. The link is under the diagram to get to the web site. (snort)

If you have a laptop- with it on your lap- push the top back the flatter you make your laptop the darker the square will become- til they are the same....
