Armani Phone Combats Rape and Theft
However, the most innovative feature is the phone's so-called rape alarm. The handset can be configured to send a text message to five preprogrammed numbers of friends or family in the event of an attack. They can either call the phone to gauge the situation, call the police or activate the phone's GPS feature to track the owner's whereabouts and movements. The distress signal is activated by pressing the phone's side-mounted volume control four times -- which hopefully has a keylock.
The £375 Armani phone also has its own kind of Lojack in the event it is lost or stolen. If the SIM card is removed and replaced with a new one, a text message containing the phone number associated with the new SIM card is secretly sent out to three preprogrammed numbers.
Unlike the $25,000 Ferrari phone we reported yesterday, it's nice to see a designer phone that actually has some features worth the higher price, and isn't simply a case of slapping on a fancy label.

Claire,
Honey, don't worry about the whole rape alarm thing. Chaldean girls aren't allowed to do anything anyways, unless of course, you make all of us look bad by lying to your mother, having a boyfriend when you're not supposed to, and partying.
And the phone is expensive, so instead of buying that, use the money towards getting an education. I don't understand why Chaldean girls care more about name brands than actually getting into good colleges. Work hard, study hard in school and the success will follow.
No wonder there aren't any Chaldean girls at my big ten university.

And if you're not Chaldean, I apologize. It's a common Chaldean last name.

Jennifer,
You are really a delight. Welcome to the United States Of America. We have freedom af religion here, and apparently freedom of speach. Your Chaldean diatribe is offensive. I'm shocked that any big 10 university admitted a biggoted fool like you.At first you hide behind a fake name and don't have the mental fortitude to remember when you just must update your post with more stupidity.
You are a shame to this country.

I wouldn't pay that much for a phone, just for an alarm. If I'm going to pay THAT much, it should have a feature that will make the rapist's balls fall off!

Sam, I agree.
Jennifer - you are a narrow-minded goon.

I hope the Armani phone and Apple I-Phone consider leasing this "intellectual property" from my corporation as a ADD-VALUE SERVICE.

You can use two GPS chips (one installed in your phone and the other in serial KILLERS, serial DUIs) to GET A ALARM when killers or DUIs are within a certain proximity from you and your phone.

Well Sam for your information, I'm sure you've probably never met a Chaldean girl. You need to control yourself before you explode on someone especially when you don't know what your talking about.
I live in an area filled with mostly Chaldeans and Chaldean girls and have about 7 I talk to all the time. Just as friends. ALL OF THE STEREOTYPES are correct!! Their parents brainwash them into trying to be a perfect girl so some guy with money can come marry their daughters.
Some do party, some do sneak out (your right - this is America) - but the majority have brothers who won't let them and its a nightmare for them. Their parents will work their asses off to make money and buy their daughters whatever they like as long as they listen. So its no wonder why they drive Mercedes, and BMW's (5 and 7 series, not the cheap 3 series) and only like fashionable things.
You'll never see one of them in a college because their parents won't have it that way. Their ignorance ruins their kids lives because they'll grow up and do the same thing they were taught to their kids. Hopefully something changes, but I'm sure nothing will !!

I'm with pinkdiva, I looked up Chaldean in the dictionary and still don't quite get what it means...or how it connects to this anti-rape phone feature. Wouldn't a woman be better off programming the police or 911 into her phone rahter than relying on 5 friends to decide how urgent the situation is?

To all of you who backed up your arguments against my post with ad hominem attacks, I am Chaldean. How else would I have recognized the last name?
And what TommyG said is true. Fortunately, my parents aren't that way and have encouraged me to attend an institution of higher learning, which is highly ranked instead of marrying a doctor and going to the salon everyday gossiping about people. I only know 2 Chaldean girls here at my university (via Facebook) and their parents have the same views as mine.
I don't drink, party, and I always let my parents know where I'm at and what time I will be back when I'm out at night with the girls. If the first poster didn't sneak out of the house and lie to her mother about where she's going, or didn't date, she doesn't have to anticipate having an expensive phone with the rape alarm.
She makes the Chaldean girls who follow the rules (like me) look bad to other Chaldeans and other nationalities.
In closing, I just want to say to the haters: Life is so short. Instead of focusing on bringing others down, use that energy towards something positive.

And Sam, if I'm really a bigot, how come I know that Chaldean is a nationality, more so, a way of life and not a religion (as you erroneously stated)?
It seems like you are the one who's a bigot.

Yeah, uh...I can see where Claire would be Chaldean....and Jennifer too...here are some of their relatives I looked up on the Net..
While the Median kingdom controlled the highland region, the Chaldeans, with their capital at Babylon, were masters of the Fertile Crescent.
Nebuchadnezzar, becoming king of the Chaldeans in 604 B.C., raised Babylonia to another epoch of brilliance after more than a thousand years of eclipse. By defeating the Egyptians in Syria, Nebuchadnezzar ended their hopes of re-creating their empire. As we have seen (p. 29), he destroyed Jerusalem in 586 B.C. and carried thousands of Jews captive to Babylonia.
Everyone get that?

For the Modern day Chaldeans here is some more info....
There are approximately 150,000 Chaldeans in the US, in addition to another 100,000 who go by Assyrians, in addition to approximately 30,000 who go by Syriacs (Suryoyo). The centers of the Chaldeans is Metropolitan Detroit, MI (where the majority of the Chaldeans are) in addition to San Diego, CA, and a smaller population in Phoenix, AZ and Chicago, IL. While the Assyrians have their biggest concentration in Chicago, IL, with sizable population in San Francisco Bay Area and Turlok-Modesto (around Sacramento area) of California. The Syriacs are found more in Los Angeles area with sizable concentrations in Chicago and Detroit.
But would find it hard pressed to understand that a name such as "Monsour" would be Chaldean by looking at it....could be French too, not so?

Kristin,
I never said that. I said that if she weren't out participating in risky activities (sneaking out late at night and lying to her parents about her whereabouts), drinking, etc., she wouldn't have to anticipate being raped.
If you don't think that these factors increase a woman's chance of being raped, you are extremely naive.
I live on a college campus, and my chances of being raped are reduced since I do not drink alcohol, attend frat parties (let's face it, frat guys try to get girls drunk in order to have sex with them), and go out alone at 3am.
And if you don't attend a university that is more than 2 hours away from your house, I suggest you rethink posting a counterattack.

Jon,
Mansour is a common Chaldean last name (the spelling and I know many Chaldeans with that last name), however, I did take into account that it may have a different origin. Therefore, in my second post, I apologized if that person was not Chaldean.
Thank you for confirming my second post.
