Cnote's D'Lo Perez Loves his Sidekick III

If you thought infectious pop from Floridian boy bands was a thing of the past, think again. We caught up with David "D'Lo" Perez from pop act Cnote as he and the band get ready to release their self-titled album on September 25. Cnote hails from Orlando, Florida, where they have created a bit of a pop renaissance since their 1999 debut Different Kind of Love hit the charts with infectious Latin dance grooves. So why did we talk to them? These kids know a thing or two about gadgets and video games. As you'll read, D'Lo prefers the Sidekick III and could really care less about the iPhone, unlike our friend Mike Tyson.
What gadgets do you always bring with you on the road?
iPods and Sidekick III's are a must.
What cell phone do you have right now and what do you love/hate about it?
A Razr for my phone and a Sidekick III for messaging and my emails. I love being able to talk to people instantly from wherever we are. I hate dropped calls, and when my kick is acting up, bouncing me offline at random times.
Who's the last person you sent a text message to and what was it about?
I sent a message to Raul and it was about our rehearsals and to see what time our basketball game was. Raul, Orlando, and I play in a league while we are in town.
Where do you go pretty much every time you get online?
I go to our MySpace page everyday to check in on our fans.
What annoys you most about your iPod, cell phone, or laptop (or any other gadget)?
Has to be my cell phone when I can't get service when we are on the road. I'ts usually when we are driving through the mountains.
Name one thing you wish your laptop could do that it doesn't do now?
I wish my laptop could transport people to where we are at any given moment.
What upcoming gadget can you not wait to get your hands on?
A new 1080P Plasma TV. I'm not a gadget guy. If I was, it would probably be an iPhone.
You're stranded on a desert island: What gadget do you bring?
My Sidekick III, so I can either invite people over or get a ride out of there when I'm tired of being there.
What's the most-played song or artist on your iPod?
Jay-Z.
Are you getting an iPhone?
Nope.
What's the longest time you've ever spent playing a video game in one sitting and what game was it?
Halo. Probably for a couple hours.
Mac or PC?
HP Laptop. I go on the internet and upload our music to other band members. While we work on songs and get different ideas, we send them to each other.
