Pimp Out Your Dorm Room!

Xbox 360 with HD-DVD Drive

Xbox 360 with HD-DVD DriveWith the $50 price cut recently confirmed for the 360, there's no better time to buy than right now. For the time being, the Xbox 360 is still the more attractive option for serious (read: non-Wii) console gamers watching their purse strings. But price isn't the only reason. The 360 functions as a Windows Media Extender, meaning, if you live in a suite with a common area, you can put your 360 out there and stream videos, music, photos and other media to it from a PC in another room. Shell out an extra $179 for the HD-DVD sidecar, and you and your roomies can enjoy high-definition movie night.

And let's not forget that this September, the 360 will be the only place to play 'Halo 3,' perhaps the most anticipated game of the year. In fact, when 'Halo 3' is released, it will offer us a second chance to buy the 360 all over again with the 'Halo 3' Special Edition Console (inset). In addition to the questionably green color scheme, the special console features an HDMI port for super high-def gaming, as well as tons of 'Halo 3' extras. Unfortunately, those extras don't include the game itself. The hubris!
