Brand New iMacs and iPods Next Week?

There's a Mac event going down next Tuesday, which can mean only one thing: wild speculation!
There are various rumors and expectations for Tuesday's Mac event, though for the first time since about 2002, none of them concerns the iPhone. First up: iPods. Thanks to some recent patent filings by Apple, rumors are circulating that a new touchscreen iPod, called the "touch" may be coming. Still, others sources in recent weeks have claimed to have seen the new iPods and report that the music players still maintain the touch wheel. We even threw our own two cents in not that long ago, guessing that there'd be new iPods in September.
Next up: iMacs. Those sleek all-in-one desktops that have been expected to receive a redesign for a while now may get that rumored brushed metal finish, and of course the matching keyboard (possibly pictured above). Meanwhile, the 17-inch iMac is rumored to be going extinct. Apple has lent a little credence to this possibility by stating that Tuesday's announcement will be 'Mac related.'
Only time will tell. Luckily, there isn't long to wait.
