The Best Headphones for the Gym

Shure SE310

It should be said that Shure makes some pretty sweet audio gear. For this reason, we were a bit underwhelmed by the SE310's. The high end is definitely nice and clear, but the low-end (the bass) is weak -- especially for a $300 pair of headphones. The half-length cord is useful for iPod users who want to use their remote. (This configuration is useful when running, particularly with your music on shuffle, though it should be said that the remote adds a bit more weight, which can tug on the earbuds). For those who don't want to use their iPod remotes, an extension is included for those. One other complaint: the plastic cord tangles too easily. Considering the high price, it's nice that the E310 at least comes with a nice case and a "Deluxe Fit Kit, " which is a fistful of different-sized buds to make sure you get a snug fit.
