DeLorean 80s Gull-Winged Car Coming Back

James Espey, vice president of DeLorean Motor, says he'll be bringing the car back -- albeit only building 20 a year -- for enthusiasts who want more of the 80s sexmobile. He plans to build the new cars from scratch with a staff as small as 20.
Espey has been rebuilding the cars for years -- he says about 6,500 of the original 9,000 are still on the road -- but this will be the first time completely brand-new DeLoreans will be available since the last one rolled off the line in 1982. No word on price, but they do sell rebuilt ones now for $42,500.

Yes, I have a 1981 DeLorean with 16,500 miles. It runs like a top and looks brand new...and I will sell it to the first $42,500 that comes along. All kidding aside... what a great car... back in 1981 I passed up purchasing a Corvette..I'm glad I did.

If they give the car a little more sexy look to the front end and a better job on the interior where panels loosen and a better instrument cluster, I will buy one, No doubt!!!

I would hope that when they build the "new" cars there would be updated everything in the car. I own 2 DeLoreans and love them, but they are a labor of love, and they also love your wallet.
