'Pong' Video Game Slot Machines Coming

Bally Merging 'Pong' With Slots'Pong' is certainly one of the most familiar video games out there, and when it comes to gambling it doesn't get much easier than playing the slots. Merge the two together and you've got a very expensive gaming habit that could make all those quarters you dropped at the arcades as a kid look like chump change. Gaming company Bally is working to develop a new concept in slot gaming they're calling 'Bally Pong'.

They say it will be the first slot machine to "allow hand-eye coordination to affect payout." Don't get too excited -- it won't be a straight game of 'Pong' where you get money for beating the computer (otherwise the Atari generation would be flooding to Vegas and would clean the city out). Instead it will play like a traditional slot machine, but when certain combinations of icons appear on the spinning wheels a quick game of 'Pong' will be played. If you beat the machine you'll earn some extra cash.

For those not-so into Pong, Bally is planning on releasing a series of these machines, with 'Breakout' seemingly the next in line. Here's hoping for a 'Street Fighter' version.
