Britain's Oxford Uses Facebook to Spy on Students
If ever you needed another reminder that Big Brother is watching, check out this story from England. It seems one of the most venerable British institutions, Oxford University, has been using social-networking site Facebook to spy on its student body. Apparently there's a tradition at the school called "trashings," whereby students go on a messy orgy of eggings and flourings, dousing their fellow students in nastiness once everyone's finished with exams. School officials don't condone this sort of unruly behavior, so they've been trolling student Facebook profiles looking for pictures of such tomfoolery, levying fines of $80-$200 against anyone able to be identified.
Oxford's Student Union is (somewhat tardily) advising students to change the privacy settings of their profiles to prevent such snooping. We, on the other hand, advise that students simply up the ante a bit -- it's awfully hard to identify someone in a picture when they're absolutely completely covered in shaving cream.

Coming from the "old school" way of raising children-having my daughter later in life. I think that the best thing you can do for your children is to teach them to respect themselves and others. As they grow you you give them the confidence and education to make good desisions. However, Not every child gets that reinforcement and not everychild abides by society's rules, You can only be a supportive parent and let your children learn from their mistakes. What I'm trying to say is that children are a product of their environment and The environment we provide as parents is the key to their future success's. If we Take our jobs as role models for our children more seriously, Society wouldn't feel the need to spy on our kids. www.make2daytheday.com
