Map Sex Offenders on Your Cell Phone
There have been a number of cool Google Maps hacks, and while some are useful, many are just for fun. A new map-based application from the National Sex Offender Registry website familywatchdog.us definitely falls into the useful category. The site already uses Google Maps to display sex offenders and, today, will launch a new service to enable parents to get the same maps of sex offenders via cell phone. The mobile app will be free to use, though your cell provider may very well charge you data fees for the privilege. This adds to the site's existing cell-based service which will send text messages about local sex offenders.

WHAT????? Feeling sorry for the Devil himself? YOU FREAKS! SICK.SICK.SICK.
They should NEVER get a second chance. In fact they should be put down like the MAD DOGS they are.

Child molesters shouldnt be allowed to walk the streets with our children. Once they have taken a child's trust and twisted them for life they deserve nothing -- no freedom, no choices, no second chances with our children

Comments like that of Loren's just goes to show how stupid and uninformed people are in this country. I know that sex offenders can be rehabilitated. Over 30 years ago one of my best friends was arrested for a sex offense. Not once since that date has he had the desire to attempt that crime again, and has never done so. At the time of this crime he was very heavy into drugs, he did a number of stupid things at that time but he has never repeated that crime. Yes I agree that repeat offenders need to be taken care of by the law. I also believe that GOD is bigger than any sin or crime and that if one allows GOD to work in his or her life things will change. My friend has watched our kids many times. He is family to them, his family is family to them. He is the perfect example of how someone can be changed and lead a good life. But because of the hate, closed minds and unwillingness to look at each situation individualy people that have changed do suffer for past problems. Loren also said that concerning other types of crimanals "that ones that qualify to be tracked are already in prison or death row" that has got to be one of the most stupid comments ever said. What kind of dream world do you live in Loren. Most crimes are commited by repeat offenders. And if you think about it if that was true there would be no crime. Back to my friend who is treated like a scumbag who goes after little kids, he was 18 the girl was 17 and willing, but her parents saw a way to make some money and have ruined his life. He has been treated like he was 50 at the time and the girl was 7. That is why each case needs to be looked at on an individual basis and not assume they are all the same like the law makers and law inforcment individuals seem to believe is the only way.

You know,
I once thought that sex offenders who went to jail were really rehabilitated because they went to therapy. I WAS SO WRONG.
All 3 of my sons were molested by my ex-hubby who was, you guessed it, an ex-sex offender. He went in for statuatory rape of a 10 yr old female when he was 18. His alibi was that he wanted to get back at the vicitm's sister (who was his girlfriend at the time)for sleeping with his best friend. He did time. Had therapy. Was he rehabilitated?
I met him when we were in our late 20s.I found out about this through rumors. I didn't wanna beleive it at first. But then he told me, and I forgave him because it was a stupid thing he did from his past. Right?
Well, he fessed up, and we'd agreed we wouldn't talk about it anymore. But I felt betrayed because why didn't he tell me at first?
Due to other issues, the relationship went sour and we're no longer together. As soon as he leaves, my kids all start acting wierd.
After years of therapy, my kids DISCLOSE that he molested them. All of those nightmares and acting act were due to this trauma induced by this sorry excuse for a man.
SO ....
To answer anyone else who THINKS these nasty low-lifes could be rehabilitated... think again.
We need stronger laws to protect our children, and as a single parent (cause I WON'T trust anyone else around my kids or with my heart)WE NEED to know where these perverts live so WE can steer clear of them.

With reference to an earlier posting, is it considered acceptable on this site for someone to threaten to burn down a person's house and murder their family?

I encourage any one who has been a victum of or knows someone close who has been a victum of sexual abuse. To spread the word of sex offenders and this web site of family watchdog. You and your kids are not safe unless you know who lives by you. And of course just because they are ordered to register doesn't mean this is happening. I dated a guy for 6 years and had know clue. He attempted to kill me 5 times within a 2 hour period from putting a pillow on my face, smothering me, to stabing me with a knife, to hitting me over the head with a kitchen chair, to throwing me down the steps, to tieing me up and leaving me there to die. Finding out that he did something to my daughter. This goes to show you how are United States court system works, he was found guilty of a lesser crime. Didn't even get charged with my daughter. Oh Yea' he only got 5 years, and he is now out, on top of this they only slapped him concurrently to his charge of him not registering.? Take care of you and your loved ones because they are out there. Inform your children what to do, interact some senerios, watch cops, nypd. (cop shows). This does help as it helped my daughter get this man off of her. To those ones who think they can be rehibilitated, well maybe, but stop to think if this was you they did it too. would you want to think they could be rehibilitated from the crime they committed. Everyone has a choice, and this choice they make, concequences may follow.
