Which Video Game Console Will Rule This Year?

There was a common thread running through all of this year's first-party press conferences: uneventfulness. Each publisher essentially gave us a run-through of games we geeks already knew about, most of them sequels and/or genre titles. Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony all decided to show almost exclusively games releasing in 2007, and each held back on announcing big news entirely. There's definitely a handful of great-looking games being shown -- it's just that we've known about them for a couple of years. Here's the big news: there is no big news at this year's E3.
Microsoft's biggest announcement was probably the inclusion of Disney movies to Xbox 360 Live Marketplace (meh), Sony's was a long-rumored PSP redesign, and Nintendo...well, Nintendo didn't really announce anything all that exciting for the Wii. I'm not sure if it's the venue (or lack thereof-this year's show takes place mostly in bougie Santa Monica hotel suites), or where we're at in the console cycle, but I had hoped to see much more from the show. E3 press conferences are the new videogame infomercials.
