The Raciest Ads on the Web

Elave Skin Care
All-natural, cruelty-free Brit skincare company Elave leaves nothing to the imagination on its over-18-only "Nothing to Hide" Web site: a comely blonde strides across your browser window completely naked (blocked above for the safety of our cubicle-locked audience members) and talks you through the product -- in an English accent, no less! Her composure is remarkable given her utter lack of clothing. Click on the projector to see the ad set in an office where the attractive employees work entirely in the buff. Full monty on the fellows too -- a real rarity on legit sites. Cruelty-free? More like clothing-free!

This is NOT racist. This is getting close to porn and shouldn't be on the web (or at least warn your websites visitors before they enter your site and see something they do not want to see). I don't know why these stories are going under the racist category. it doesn't seem like people know what RACE covers/is. O.o This is irritating... :P
retkofsky_565Jul 17th 2007 3:04PM
Hey there retard! If you were literate you would notice that the word is raciest and not racist. I will give you a few minutes to study the different spellings. Maybe you should take a break and grab that dictionary that is holding your kitchen table level and actually read the thing.
Ronald GJul 17th 2007 3:09PM
Eleanor D, are you serious???? they're not saying the ad is racist you fool. they're saying the ad is RACY, something you have obviously never been. my advice is to go out to a second hand book store, find a copy of a used dictionary for 25 cents, and do yourself a favor and keep it close to the computer for an instance such as this. GET A VOCABULARY FOOL!
mishaJul 17th 2007 3:09PM
wow, you dumb as hell.... "Raciest" means very RACY- the most sexy, inappropriate, lewd and lascivious... get the picture? the only person who thinks it has anything to do with race is you. so the next time you go on a rant, make sure you have your pocket dictionary next to you so u can see what a word means...
SplmaniacJul 17th 2007 3:11PM
my poor eleanor. this is not about racism. its about raciest/most provocitive ads in current media. it has nothing to do with race, and they ask if your over 18 before you are exposed to anything you might not want to see.
if porn isn't supposed to be on the web, where should it be? but if you dont like it, dont look at it. there is usually a big X it the upper right corner that will close the window for you. Alt - F4 is a shortcut if you cant find it.
JustinJul 17th 2007 3:20PM
hey, dude, raciest means a little to sexual, not abotu race. Unless you already knew that considerign the face you added at the end, and i think this is to explict, shes naked for goodness sake, how is that not to sexual for office work? course shes not doing sexual acts but shes still naked!
motoxcole9Jul 17th 2007 3:52PM
aight youre all way off topic here. yes, yes, i know these people cant spell and are almost retarded... but thats besides the point. but i agree entirely with the guy that says if you have to be over 18 to view it.. odds are you'd expect nudity.. why else would it be ovevr 18 only? and also.. a big X makes the big bad boobies go away.. damn you people are dumb
StrongJul 17th 2007 3:40PM
To Eleanor D I can clearly see that you understand what the topic is about and just check your spelling for the future seeing how people are only focusing on one word and not paying attetion to the content if your statement. I think what people are forgetting is that the ads themselves are not to risky for home or out at the bar or some place else but for the work space where so much is banned or dictated to be unprofessional even certain styles of clothing and music some of these ads fall into that same category

Dictionary honey, dictionary!!! Have you never been introduced, didn't you do vocabulary. Or was it limited to 3 letter words, lest your brain explode? So sad!!
Either way, the subject matter is about racy (still not about race, even with the spelling change)ads. To comment on that, we are so uptight in America about sex, and showing too much skin, its about time that advertisers get brave.
bruceJul 17th 2007 3:52PM
The Elave ad is great. Nice to see a bunch of healthy looking people...in their natural state.
By the way, I think the "presenter" is actually the president of Elave. That's real sales-womanship.
Is it too racy?...The American audience can't deal with a single nipple, let alone breasts, pubic hair and penises...all at the same time.
Great ad. It will do fine in Europe, and other places where bibles and head to foot clothing are not rammed down peoples throats.
GMBJul 17th 2007 4:04PM
Let's cut Eleanor some slack. I made the same mistake in 6th grade in a paper about the KKK. I said they were a raciest group and didn't get marked off.
On the other hand, if you saw 5 examples of ads that are highly sexual in nature, and still were incensed at their racial content, would you stop to think that maybe you were missing something? Like a proper edumacation? Or two brain cells to rub together?
DaniJul 17th 2007 4:08PM
what the hell! 1st off not all of you are as smart as you think. She just misspelled a damn word get over it. We all do it. and if you don't like the ad. the click the big X in the right hand corner of your screen and get back to your pathetic lives of bitching and complaining.
RudieJul 17th 2007 5:08PM
I'd rather my children watch sexy ads than violent movies/computed games. The human body is gorgeous! Movies get an "X" ratind for showing a breast being fondled lovingly and an "R" rating for cutting one off with a machete!
JJPJul 17th 2007 5:16PM
Why is it that folks in this country find nudity offensive but flock to see movies, watch them on TV and purchase billions of $ in video games that contain graphic violence? Shouldn't our children be aware of the human body, both male and female? Should they, instead, be aware of how to maim, murder and otherwise destroy humanity? Seems to me like priorities are messed up somewhere.

"what the hell! 1st off not all of you are as smart as you think. She just misspelled a damn word get over it."-Dani
Actually Dani, you're as dimwitted as Eleanor. She didn't "misspell" a word (do you know what irony is?). She's been reading through all of these pages COMPLETELY misinterpretting the word "raciest" to mean "racist," as in, having to do with one's race, not having to do with being "racy." Actually read what she said before you chime in:
"I don't know why these stories are going under the racist category. it doesn't seem like people know what RACE covers/is. O.o This is irritating... :P" - Eleanor D
So, this person has been clicking through each page trying to figure out what these ads have to do with racism, having read the words "racy" and "raciest" a dozen times and never questioning what they actually mean.
JoeJul 17th 2007 5:35PM
Hey you guys...CUT IT OUT! Give Eleanor D a break. So she made a mistake. maybe she IS a little Roseann Rosannadana, but why can't you correct her without being beligerent? You f*ckin' Morons.
See, how do YOU like it?
MoeshJul 17th 2007 9:45PM
Well said, Bruce. I agree. It's refreshing and beautiful.
DaniJul 17th 2007 6:04PM
Ok my bad if i made a mistake...but either way..she halfway knew what she was talking about so give her a little credit damn!
pkJul 17th 2007 6:09PM
Eleanor, are you really Emily Litella (Gilda Radner) from SNL? ...nevermind... lol
