Webcam Nabs Cat Burglar
An interesting tale today of technology doing some good for a change. One of the members of the tech staff that keeps the popular alt-adult site SuicideGirls running recently found himself on the receiving end of some petty theft from his apartment. Rather than calling the police or maybe upgrading his locks, he instead did what any good techie would do: He installed a Webcam. Lo and behold, a few weeks later, he and his impromptu security system hit paydirt.
While watching his own place he was surprised to see someone wandering around, obviously uninvited and helping himself to whatever he saw fit, which included raiding the fridge. In fact, the intruder spent so long in the place that the apartment's owner was able to call the Los Angeles police and get them over to the place to capture the thug. However, there is one bad part to this story: Neither the arrest nor the requisite LAPD beatdown were captured on film.

Nothing happens around here at old trailer park as everybody has a spoiler, would rather have a camera so we coulde bust his chops rather than cops say now that's a bad boy next time don't do that.

Even a simple web cam can do a good job on recording a burglar, not to mention more expensive security
systems. I use web cab that can detect motion. It's amazing how burglars strike whenever they see an
opportunity. Now, when the vacation time is coming I took an extra step to make my home, and not only car
secure. I have purchased a CD with burglar deterrent sounds, which I play every day in my apartment when I
leave it for work. And I will play it non stop when I go on vacation in July. The sound quality is OK,
nothing spectacular, but since you are listening to it through the closed door, it works great. Web site
is: www.DeterrentSounds.com. Another good site is www.audioguard.com.
