Yeah, this sounds like exactly what they would do. It's just like the Dateline feature that lures potential child-sex-seekers to a house where a TV camera and cops are lying in wait. The old saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Why catch people in the act when you can catch them BEFORE the act? There's even been a movie about that: Minority Report. Lesson to be learned: get your movies from a legitimate source, and check out their credentials thoroughly. The MPAA regularly downloads its own movies off the bit-torrent network to log and track the IP addresses of seeders, and report them to their ISP's. If the source of your movies doesn't check out, you could find a multi-million dollar lawsuit or a jail cell waiting for you faster than you can say ENTRAPMENT. Speaking of which--- innocent until proven guilty works both ways. You think you've been entrapped? The burden is on you to prove it. And all the people who were on Dateline and are now in jail are a testimony that the law won't be on your side.
