2007's Other Highly Anticipated Phones
With the launch of the iPhone officially out of the way, Tech Digest has gotten down to business talking about things other than the iPhone. The first order of business: taking note of the fact that other anticipated cell phones do exist. The Tech Digest guys have compiled a list of the most hotly anticipated phones, all of which are slated to be released later this year.
Included on the list is the LG KU-580, which many online followers of phone news believe is the precursor to the Google Phone. The follow-up to the mighty popular Chocolate is sleek, pretty and comes preloaded with tons of Google Apps.
The RAZR II: The Return of Slim, also makes an appearance, as does the simply drool-inducing Sony Ericsson W960. The W960 (pictured) comes packed with a large touch screen, a five-megapixel camera, 3G, Wi-Fi ... it's about as close to an iPhone-killer (with a way better camera) as you're likely to see for a bit. Follow the link for the rest of the list.

I enjoy my basic phone to call someone and receive calls.

I disagree with "mee". While I'd take a DSLR camera on a safari, and want a full stereo home theater at home, when I go about my day-to-day, I don't want to carry fifteen electronic devices. I want ONE device to make calls, listen to music, access the web, organize my life and ramblings, and take candid pictures. (And, oh yeah, for those cell phone makers who are listening, I DON'T want to lose half the screen to a tiny keyboard. A slider keyboard is a GREAT idea.)

Isn't kind of stupid to say buy a cheap phone and a $2000 watch? What kind of comparison is that? What if I don't want a watch, but I want a sick phone? Buying an expensive watch is no more justified than buying an expensive phone. Eye of the beholder people.
I have the most basic phone I could get (Moto C139) because my RAZR broke. I'm waiting until a new cool (and marginally inexpensive) phone comes out with some good features before I splurge. Might just get a Sony Ericsson to go with my PS3...all of you Rolex people can check what time it is while I email, take pictures, listen to music, and socialize through my phone (with real life friends of course! ;p).
