Video Gaming Not an Addiction, Says AMA

Marathon gamers rejoice: the American Medical Association (AMA) has decided that gaming is officially not addictive. Last week, a report prepared for the Association's annual policy meeting recommended that video game addiction be declared a psychiatric illness. However, the AMA wasn't convinced: "More study is needed on the addictive potential of video games," said Dr. Ronald M. Davis, M.D., AMA President stated. But the AMA didn't throw caution out the window entirely: "The AMA remains concerned about the behavior, health and societal effects of video game and Internet overuse," said Davis.

So, tell that to your wife/husband/parents/children when they tell you that you play too much 'World of Warcraft.'

After all, the forces of the Horde aren't going to defeat themselves ...
