Best Blogs on the Web

Believe it or not, there are an estimated 70 million blogs out there, with 120,000 new ones being born every day. To help you better separate the quality from the crap (oh...and there's a king's helping of the latter), PC World recently put together its list of the magazine's 100 favorite blogs. The picks cut across such categories as tech, politics, celebrity and media. They include some of our favorites, including Engadget, GeekSugar and Slashdot (tech), Gawker and Defamer (celebrity) and Boing Boing and Mental_Floss (general interest/random knowledge). But we couldn't help but find the list a tad lacking, especially given the total omission of categories for humor and music. So, without further ado, here are Switched's unsolicited additions to the PC World list of favorite blogs:

There are really so many blogs out there which are absolutely interesting, funny and informative that I find it difficult to name the very best among them. Blogging as an exercise can truly become addictive. Politics is my game. Check out vernasmith.blogspot.com and tell me what you think.

Wonderful choices but don't forget about Real Estate blogging http://Route66Living.com
There is also a contest running right now called Project Blogger and it is an experiment in blog building. Take 13 people who have never blogged for business, match them up with a blogging expert, run the contest for 14 weeks, offer a $5000 prize to charity and mix well. "Queen" celebrity blogger.. Though he's just a fat cuban, but I love the way he trashes certain celebs, ie: Avril Lavigne, Joss Stone, Victoria "Posh" Beckham.

Though I'd avoid it for a little while. MK found a new obsession. Phoebe Price, and she looks like she had her thighs sucked out and implanted into her cheeks... Otherwise MK is always funny.

See what happens when a family moves out of the city and learns they are Yankees (I wasn't in school that day when they taught that page--I thought Yankees was a baseball team), how to weed the garden, heat an old farmhouse and catch a runaway horse.

My email to friends, family, peers was growing popular, and when I found something interesting I would want to tell everybody. They in turn, would want to send it out. Even though, I would blind carbon-copy my email list, the normal person, not being computer-saavy, would copy and paste, or forward hundreds of their own email addresses just ripe for spamming. So to allieve my spam guilt of others forwarding my email address, to reduce my work when I had to combine email lists, allow more readers to share, and to prevent more email spam, I decided to blog. My blog is for Quidnuncs who like current world events, politics, news, history, culture, trivia, religion, and the quirky.

Wow...Talk about Blogs...check this out !!
While driving on a trip last week I heard of an awesome new guitarist on the radio. His name is Jordan Rivers.
So I checked online to see where to purchase his songs and I came across an awesome story on Rhapsody.com and I found a couple of Blogs he has.
It seems that in the last 4 weeks Jordan Rivers the Rock-Blues Guitarist is taking the world by storm. Many think he's the next inline to be the best in the world. His acoustic guitar and electric guitar playing is world class stunning, his lead guitar is sought after by many guitarist already wanting to know how he makes his incredible moves. His Rthymes, his touch ,his timming and knowelge of chording is perfect. And his singing reminds me of a cross between Ricky Nelson and Elvis. The fact that he's not real famous is the only thing holding him back a little. But people are starting to take notice of this man. They say he's better than Eric Clapton and many others.
This is an awesome story I learned about ....That started over 4 years ago when a traggic accident nearly took the life of his wife.At the time he turned down a recording contract and a chance to tour the world for 5 years so he could care for his wife around the clock....Now 4 years later he decided to record 13 of his songs he wrote in his home studio one weekend a couple months ago. Then following week his friends come over and tell him he ought to market his recordings and make them into an album. So he does, and 6 companies decide to sell his album world wide. Suddenly he's thrust upon the world as one of the top 8 guitarist alive today.Rhapsody.com even has 4 of his songs ranked in the top 30 amoung guitarist world wide.
And his songs have been as high as number 18. That's awesome when you consider he's come out of nowhere. His music is well sought after by guitar players everywhere, wanting to pickup on some of the best guitar playing ever recorded.
Maybe it best said...that a miracle has taken place. Jordan Rivers has been give a second chance at getting his life back. This is an awesome story ...I also found 2 of his blogs. The story isn't on the blogs but on Rhapsody.com.....yet you can learn about this AWESOME guitarist, who's blessed by God.
Here's the blogs.... 1.)http://www.freewebs.com/musicnewsusa
2.) http://jordanriversguitarforum.blogspot.com
There ya go...Thanks Jason

It seems Mr Jordan Rivers, waded into the Jordan River with his electric and acoustic guitars. And soon after cause the Jordan River Dispute. Now the river flows into his back yard, as he becomes more well known to the world.
I read on the Internet that Jordan Rivers is of English Royal Blood lines on his fathers side and relatives are from Norway on his mothers side of the family.
So as I understand he's not from Israel. So where did his name come from ?
A friend of mine heard that as a Christian Singer that Jordan Rivers took that name so he could serve the Lord better. But in truth he was already a very well known guitarist and singer, under another name, who had been on radio over the years with his music.
So...I say all the more power to Jordan Rivers....I guess there's far worst things humans can do than to serve God.
So I can't fault him on the name change.
Next...Please understand I am a very good college guitar teacher in muisc and theory. So here's view on his play style.
As for his guitar playing. I listened to his music for about 2 weeks comparing it to Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Zakk WYLDE, Jimmy Page, and many others.
So how good is Jordan Rivers?
I'll put it to you this way.
Without knocking down....or taking away from any other great guitar players in the world.....I'll just say this.
Jordan Rivers is one of the best all around lead and Rhythm guitarist in rock, hard rock, blues, jazz.
He knows lead guitar better than the best. He plays far more than just pentatonic scales , he's play every major and minor scales and some very difficult chord voicing arrangements.
His timing and style is sweet as can be. He also sings on the beat or the rhythm, most guitars do not.
Drummers would love to play with this guy.....His timing is just that good.
So I do I place Jordan Rivers.....in a List.....well I won't do that . Everyone has their guitar hero's....but Jordan Rivers does deserve to be ranked in the TOP 10 of all time.
So what if he's a gospel singer, his music is stunning,it shines,It screams WORLD CLASS !!.
He's better than the Santana's of the world, far better. If he was far more well known in the guitar world, who knows. He could be in the top 5 & maybe the best ever. That's a hard call still because, the buyers of CD's and music are the ones who should rate him. They are the customers. And gold records are made by the customers......so there it is. Here's his web site. It's already been posted all over the Internet any ways...but here it is for those of you searching for Jordan Rivers
