'Manhunt 2,' the follow-up to 'GTA' developer Rockstar's 2004 kill-crazy cult hit, has been reviewed by American and British ratings boards and, as a result, has summarily been banned from sale in the U.K.. The British Board of Film Classification cited the game's "cumulative casual sadism" and "sheer lack of alternative pleasures" to killing as reasons for the ban. Meanwhile the game has received an Adults Only rating from the American ESRB.

'Halo 3' Toys Coming
Todd McFarlane, comic book artist extraordinaire-cum-toy maker, has set his sights on Microsoft's 'Halo' franchise for the latest round of toys from his company, McFarlane Toys. The figures will include a selection of characters from the 'Halo 3' game, hitting the Xbox 360 in September after a long wait, though the toys themselves won't see release until spring of 2008.

'Popular Science' has listed the 10 worst science jobs, ranking Microsoft security officer at number 6, alongside other questionable career choices like Olympic drug testers and hazardous-material divers. Ironically, this list was compiled by the personal judgments of the magazine's writers, making it rather unscientific itself.

Cheaper iPhone Coming?
Just over a week ahead of the iPhone launch unsubstantiated rumors are making the rounds predicting cheaper, smaller versions of the handset, ala iPod Nano and Shuffle. No big surprise there, really. Other rumors swirling on the wires include a possible setting of the sun this evening and speculation about what bears do in the woods after a hearty meal.

Classic Games on Tap for Mac
GameTap, the subscription service that has for a few years now provided an endless stream of classic computer, console and arcade titles to PC gamers, is coming to the Mac. Up first will be a "lite" version that will enable gamers to play arcade and PC classics, while a "deluxe" version will ship later featuring games that originally ran on video game consoles.
