Airbus A380 Becomes Flying Bachelor Pad
An unnamed (though clearly very rich) man has paid a hefty sum to turn a new Airbus A380 into his own personal flying bachelor pad -- or husband pad as the case may be (his marital status also wasn't revealed). Airbus isn't saying just how much he paid for the jet capable of carrying 840 passengers within its 10,000 square feet of capacity, but given that they sell for about $300 million each and customizations could exceed $150 million, let's just call it an even half-billion out the door, yeah?
No word on where this mystery man plans to go with his mystery jet, or what mysterious deeds he plans on doing within it, but we have a few humble suggestions:
- Really show up everyone at his 20-year class reunion
- World's largest flying strip club with giant poles
- Instead of flying to NYC to see a show, bring Broadway on board
- Create the ultimate airborne secret lair for an evil villain
- Park next to Air Force One and give Bush a bad case of plane envy

Fortunately by the time this plane will be available, Bush will be long out of office. It will make AF1 look rather puny by comparison.

The 787 makes the A380 a fuel hogging dinosaur. AF-1 should be replaced some day by the Dreamliner. The 787 is very large but super big isn't vital to an executive. The Dreamliner sets the right tone. The trouble comes from matching the superior flight dynamics of AF-1 with any new replacement. There are few AC that can do what "old" AF-1 can do with the 4 powerful engines it has. The A380 is a fat slow moving target.
