AT&T Video Share Launches
The biggest problem with the service is that the video sharing is only one-way, nixing the prospect of two-way video conversations.
The second problem is price. It costs $4.99 per month for 25 minutes of usage, $9.99 for 60 minutes or 35 cents per minute -- that's on top of your data plan, even if it's an unlimited one.
The third problem is availability. Both users must be on a Video Share enabled phone, which for now is only the Samsung Sync and A717, and the LG CU500v. Both users must be in a high-speed 3G coverage area, and both must be in either Atlanta, Dallas or San Antonio, where the service is being deployed to first. It is expected to roll out across the rest of the country by late July.
Needless to say, we'll be holding off for now (even if we had the choice to).
