Weird New Skin Care Game for DS

Weird New Skin Care Game for DSJapanese game maker Konami thinks you're overweight and ugly. Luckily, it's going to whip you into shape. The company is already chiseling away at your spare tire with the exercise modes included in its blockbuster 'Dance Dance Revolution' franchise. Now, 'Chizu Saeki's Dream Skin Care' will work on making your face look less like the surface of a golf ball. The game, just announced in Japan, lets users pick a target date -- like an upcoming wedding or reunion – for which it then develops a custom skin care regimen based on the user's basal body temperature and hormone balance. Though the game goes on sale in Japan on October 18, there are no plans yet to bring it to the U.S. But don't fret -- there are plenty of similarly bizarre games available on our shores. Here are just a few:

'Feel the Magic XX/XY'
You fall love with a girl and must win her over by completing a series minigames. The tiny challenges include somewhat normal relationship stuff, like trying to hold her hand, to the completely freaky. For example, in one game you help a man regurgitate some live fish he's accidentally swallowed.

'Trauma Center: Under the Knife'
Prep the rib spreaders, STAT! You're on call in the emergency room and will use the DS stylus to carve open patients, hack out tumors and remove foreign objects that find their way into body cavities. It's kind of like the classic 'Operation' board game, minus the fun of electrical shock.

'Cooking Mama'
Get your Emeril on in a virtual kitchen as you prepare dishes ranging from fried eggs to cabbage meat rolls. Use the stylus to chop, slice, pan fry, knead, grate, mash, tenderize, mix, peel and carve. Before serving, remember to blow into the DS's microphone to cool down hot dishes.
