In My Mach 5 I Will Survive, Yeah Yeah

In My Mach 5 I Will Survive, Yeah Yeah

Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer...

In 2008, Warner Brothers will release the latest in its efforts to turn old TV shows into feature film fodder with an attempt to cash in on Japanese import cartoon 'Speed Racer'. The cast is, well, odd to say the least:
  • Matthew Fox as Racer X
  • Emile Hirsch as Speed Racer
  • Christina Ricci as Trixie
  • Susan Sarandon and John Goodman as Mom and Pops Racer, respectively
The film is being directed by the Wachowski brothers, whose success with 'The Matrix' is looking more and more like a stroke of luck as opposed to that of talented artists.

About the only thing the film has going for it is that beautiful hot rod above. The Mach 5 looks to be one of the best transfers from animation to live action, much better than the 'Mystery Machine.' It will probably be the only part of the film that remains true to the classic anime series. Check the video bellow for a view of the cockpit.
