Microsoft Does Kitchens

After invading nearly every room in your home, Microsoft is looking to make its way into one more: your kitchen.
According to ZDNet, Microsoft is launching a new product that will extend Windows to the kitchen with a family calendar, a recipe center, various entertainment features, and a shared bulletin board. The product is tentatively to be called Microsoft Kitchen.
The company has announced a new patent licensing agreement with LG, which will be incorporating the software into its products. Those keeping up with kitchen computing will recall that LG has some experience in this space -- it launched an Internet-enabled fridge several years back. Besides refrigerators, the new client may end up in PCs designed for alternative computing spaces such as the kitchen, like the HP Touchsmart (pictured).
And in case you were wondering, yes, the computer era has officially arrived.
