Sxy Txt Msgs = Jail Time

In a country where chewing gum is a federal offense, cell phone users now have something new to worry about: sending dirty text messages.

Malaysia's Deputy Minister for Energy, Water and Communications Datuk Shaziman Wan Abu Mansor (try saying that five times fast) recently affirmed that mobile phone users caught sending obscene messages and pictures could face prosecution with fines of $15,000 and up to one year in jail.

Of course, exactly how (or why) they're keeping track of every text message remains a mystery.

Drunk dialers beware.
