Tech Tips for Looking Busy at Work

Time Your Emails
Nothing says "I'm working here, people!" more than timely e-mails. If you're planning some time away from your desk (or doing any number of other things at your desk), you can time your e-mails to go out at particular times. Most e-mail programs, like Outlook, offer this feature under the "Options" menu.

PLEASE AMERICANS
stop looking for ways to give away your jobs
i believe integraty and values need to be taught in schools most vigerously as parents fail
parents are forgeting to teach honor, integraty, and values
how can we expect these vertues to be present in the work force if they are not first present in the home...............
why do we expect it from other?
why doesn't this artical of deception 101 surprise any of us?
joshua f. is this all you have to honor your America/self? sad

These tips are a disservice and only promote more dishonesty and slacking in the workplace. There are plenty of people who are out of work, especially over 40 years old, who even tho competent and not suffering from dementia, would be happy to have a job and work hard.

I agree with Pat. What is this great urge to do as little as possible, while getting paid the maximum amount of money?
I was once a corporate citizen, completely oblivious to what REAL HARD WORK looked like, until a layoff came around. Now, approaching 40, I find it hard to find a good position with any decent benefits. If you are my age, possess a college degree, are laid off, and can find a white collar technology-related job that hasn't been outsourced or given to an H1B worker from another country, you'll be darned happy to look busy at work BECAUSE YOU ARE ACTUALLY BUSY!

Georgia ~ While I agree with your theory, it would behoove you to use spell check before saying our schools need to teach the children. Integrity, virtues, article... just a simple tool to emphasize your point, rather than have them laugh at double standards.

I am the kind of person who works briefly creatively in intense spurts and the needs time off to recharge my batteries. Some people are the slow and steady types. I put in about 2 hours per day on actual work, Fortunately my bosses noticed my style and understood the contribution I made to the company. After 11 years with one comp[any I quit work for myself. That was so I could still work 2 hours but spend the remaining time recharging at the beach or wherever I pleased instead of at the office. It has worked out famously

Georgia, I believe in spelling integrIty the correct way. I guess we won't have to worry about losing our jobs to people who can't spell.

LAZY AMERICANS! HAAAA
NO WONDER ALL YOUR JOBS ARE BEING OUTSOURCED...

Such a disservice to business. Such a disservice to Americans who would really like to see jobs STAY in America. But hey, teach enthusiastic cheaters how to further divert OUR JOBS OFF SHORE WHERE PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANT TO WORK HARD AND DEMONSTRATE LOYALTY TO THE PEOPLE/COMPANIES WHO SIGN THEIR PAYCHECKS!
Teach people it is OK to steal on the job, then lock your front door at home because they'll think nothing's wrong with stealing your brand new HDTV.
Congrats on a new low.

Georgia:
Obviously your parents did not teach you to spell:
integraty = integity
vigerously = vigorously
vertues = virtues
artical = article
forgeting = forgetting
Kind of hard to think you have intelligent opinions if you cannot spell!

we all are so disapointed because because we were really looking for tricks to slack and we got punked.
yvesJul 25th 2007 9:17PM
linda and ruthie you better check your spelling too stupid and arrogant inepts. when you don`t have ideas you don`t come here to correct other people`s shit. you guys can`t even spell right, people make mistakes all the time .go to the national spelling bee to get your asses challenged if you think you think you are that good. and by the way don`t waste your time correcting me and in insulting me if my spelling is not perfect,because my national language is french .where i from they taught me that languages and spelling have nothing to see with intelligence and knowledge. when you don`t have billiant ideas like geargia don`t go play dominos instead of wasting your time correcting words you can`t spell properly.
yvesJul 25th 2007 9:27PM
i meant< brilliant>. and there is no before go play dominos .
