(Sorta) Free MMO Goes Live

Publisher NCSoft has just made it even easier for you to justify wasting spending countless hours killing virtual orcs and demons in near-infinite stretches of virtual dungeons rather than getting caught up in such distractions as "talking to your wife" or "playing with your children." How? By releasing a new massively multiperson online (MMO) hack-and-slash called 'Dungeon Runners', and making it free.

Unlike World of Warcraft et al., 'Runners' employs a "classless" system that doesn't lock players into a specific skill set. Want to carry a big axe and flex those magic skills? Nobody's gonna stop you. The game is PC-only, but should run fine on Macs running Boot Camp.

One thing we should note: The core game is absolutely free, but players who pay the $4.99/month subscription fee will get priority queuing during busy periods. They will also get access to more powerful items and bank storage for up to 220 items (regular players can only keep the items that they can carry).

So, actually, we take back all that stuff about it being free. It's totally not.
