Recycle That Mobile

The cell phone has clearly become the new disposable styrofoam cup, which is why various organizations have been cropping up to actually do all the dirty work and recycle our mobiles for us. So you'd think we'd put two and two together and, you know, "recycle" the damn things, but according to a new survey by Mopay, we're not.
The survey covered 2,000 consumers and found that 54% of the 18-24 year old "mobile generation" (Mopay's words, not ours) is keeping one or more spare mobiles, and 28% keep two or more. (Apparently, most of these dead handsets end up in the bedroom drawer, along with other things that never get any use -- zing!).
Better than throwing them in the garbage can, we suppose, but come on people, with the iPhone right around the corner, this would probably be a good time to start getting our collective act together.
Not judging, just saying.
