Jobs Vs. Gates: The Aftermath

It was billed as one of the biggest meeting of the minds in tech history: Apple's Steve Jobs and Microsoft's Bill Gates sitting side by side on stage at the 2007 All Things Digital Conference. It all went down last night, though anyone expecting a bloody fight to the death was sorely disappointed. The event was more love-fest than debate. As Jobs and Gates worked through topics ranging from BASIC programming to politics, they seemed to agree on just about everything in some way or another. What disagreements they did have were more for the sake of humor. Don't believe us? Check out the full rundown of the chat or watch the video above and just try to avoid feeling all warm and fuzzy.

The two visionaries openly addressed their admiration for each other numerous times. At one point, Jobs said "you and I have memories longer than the road ahead," while Gates quipped "we've kept our marriage secret for over a decade." Though the Mac and PC guys in the Apple commercials may still have a hard time seeing eye-to-eye, their real-life incarnations are like two peas in an iPod.
