The World's Ugliest Gadgets
"We've found the ugliest gadgets ever made, so you don't have to," the article proclaimed. Only, we here at Switched think there are plenty of criminal acts against good taste that weren't mentioned. So, inspired by CrunchGear, we present our nominees for the tech design hall of shame.
Microsoft XboxForget the fact that it was heavier than a cinder block. Overlook the reality that you needed Paul Bunyan-sized hands to properly grip the controller. Forgive Microsoft for the hideous font it chose to use for the logo (a variation of which Sony now inexplicably uses for the PS3). Ignore all of these design boo-boos and you're still left with the awful black and lime-green color scheme. It's so offensive, we'd hate it if we were blind.

frankly I think that whoever wrote the article has way too much time on their hands, not to mention being far too judgmental. Also, the fact that they weren't even focusing on current gadgets made the whole article boring by giving it a 'duh' factor. Yeah, everything in the eighties was square and ugly. Progress isn't always pretty, but that's what it took to get to where we are now. Also, I thought that the tripod was cute! ~^_^~

HAHA! Whoever wrote this probably wasn't thinkiing that this was the 21st century, where people have too much time on their hands (like the people who made this) and want to make some easy cash. there are some pretty weird things out there like shiny and sparkly phones and 71" gold plated plasmas, but that doesn't back up your point whoever you are that some machines are just too cool for older people.

these people are stupid 1st, microsoft fixed the problem with the controler by adding smaller ones that came with the xbox and second, the xbox case isn't supposed to look cool people don't buy gaming consoles based on how they look they buy them based on how they perform, they dom't care what it looks like.

Yeah. we all know X-box (like the wii, currently lodged in my plasma screen tv) sucks.
But Jordan and Ryan are correct here, we left the 80's 25 years ago kiddies.

Well, that helmet must be heavy as hell, how much longer she can play game with that starwar looking thing?
Laird Richard @ May 25th 2007 2:45AM
I do believe the dark ages have made a glorious return to history. Toshiba's Immersion Helmet is marvelously reminiscent of the helmet donned by Nigel Bruce into which Vincent Price dropped a rat.

Holly Molly I feel so sorry for you that you have to wear something so ugly and looks very heavy for you to have on your head, I would'nt even pass it off on to my step kids, it looks like it would hurt your neck and give you back problems just trying to balance it alone would be to hard.
May if I got paid big money just maybe I would let my dog wear it.
Sincerely
debdomingu

Wow when there's nothing newsorthy I guess it's easy to point fingers just to keep your 15 minutes of fame extending like others stated too much time and not enough intellegence content
