The World's Ugliest GadgetsJoby Gorillapod

We can't tell if this flexible camera tripod is ugly, or just plain scary, but it sure isn't cute. The good news is that it's actually useful. The Joby Gorillapod ($24.95) screws into any camera bottom. The tripod's flexible legs can be wrapped around all manner of tree trunks and poles, hung from the ceiling, or placed on pretty much any surface, no matter how tight -- so you can get that perfect shot that'll make your subjects look a thousand times better than this accessory on a good day. In fact, shutterbugs love it so much they've devoted an entire Flickr photo group to the thing. We actually found one alternative use for it, as the star of our stop-motion movie about anthropomorphic gadgets-gone-berserk.
