Vista Sells 40 Million Copies
Less than six months after its release, Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system has reached an impressive milestone: 40 million copies sold. Half of those sales were made in just the first month of release, which rockets past predecessor Windows XP's previous sales record of 17 million copies in two months. The announcement was made by Microsoft lord and founder, Bill Gates, while speaking at a company conference in Los Angeles. According to Gates, the milestone was reached much faster than he'd anticipated, and he attributes the success of Vista to its improved digital media features.
So take that, "I'm a Mac" guy!
