Tiny U.K. Town is Void of Cell Coverage
Living in a small town means feeling a certain closeness to your fellow villagers. Nowhere is that more true than in the tiny hamlet of East Prawle in the U.K. You see, the tiny town of just 200 is a cellular dead zone, except for one spot that magically gets reception – a park bench. Day and night, Prawlers line up and pack onto the bench waiting for their chance to gab (and completely miss the point of a 'mobile phone'). Even then, they have to stand on the bench and face West.

Looks like the bench is getting a new home, though. Turns out an an elderly villager complained about crowds muddying the bench with footprints, so the town of East Prawle is moving the thing to a different location, void of cellular coverage. In the bench's spot, a two-foot high concrete platform will be constructed to accommodate Prawle's dial-happy masses.

There's a Verizon ad we'd like to see.
