What I'd really like for Mother's Day is more space on our DVR without buying a whole new box. Any ideas?

Dear Mom,

I've got the perfect solution, but I'm going to need to borrow your Tivo for a couple of weeks so I can send it to WeaKnees.com, a service that will trick out your existing unit with up to 1800 hours of additional TV-show capacity (I just have to make sure you have a TiVo or DIRECTV TiVo DVR, not the kind from the cable company). To save a little money -- upgrades start at $119 -- I may just get you one of WeakKnees's hard-drive upgrade kits and install it on your Tivo myself.

Now you won't miss another episode of Oprah or Desperate Housewives again.
