I,m not amused. People who don't like cats are missing out on very loyal and loving pets who have distinct personalities. Not every cat is a good pet, just as every dog is not a good pet and not every human is a good friend. But some are exceptional. Now if it was Dim Wit G.W.'s bum, I would use up all my pencils!
Don @ Jun 17th 2007 6:46AM

Really shows your mentality. Even when talking about dogs and cats, you have to throw in your Bush-hate. Have you idiots no perspective on anything????
Kimmie @ Jun 17th 2007 6:47AM
This is funny but I think it wouldn't be the best thing to have work, at home yes, but taking it to work may cause some trouble w/ other co-workers. I am a cat lover, and a dog lover so I wouldn't get this to say "I hate cats" I just like stupid little joke things like these, what can I say I'm easily amused. But I do not think this is anything to get upset over, people make way worse things such as this, for example a teacher I had in high school had a cartoon screen saver that had a guy on a lawn mower running over cats, and it showed the blood and everything. This did upset me, because he is a teacher, he is suspose to be setting an example for the students. So there are several things out there that can be debatable such as this pencial sharpener, as I said before just leave these kinds of things at home, no since in upsetting someone over something that may not seem like a big deal to u but is to them.
Bill @ Jun 17th 2007 6:56AM
John, cats kill millions of song birds and baby rabbits. My dogs are kept in my yard by an invisable fence. They dont roam the neighborhood to pee and poop in everybody elses yard. There is nothing worse than the smell of cat shit.
lisa @ Jun 17th 2007 7:06AM
I have cats, have had cats, love cats, even had a cat in my crib as a baby. Yep love me some cats,. I thought the sharpener was funny, I am old enough to know a joke when I see one. for work may be not so much, but for home or the cat lover in your life, as a dust collecter, it would be funny.
So where do we order this thing???
kiki @ Jun 17th 2007 7:23AM
I do like dogs better than cats. This is pretty funny. Now if they could make one that would resemble my EX...that would be hysterical !
Dan Schwinge @ Jun 17th 2007 7:28AM
This is one place I found to get this cat.http://www.perpetualkid.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2246 at $14.99 each available in white only
grace @ Jun 17th 2007 7:50AM
I am a cat lover, I have 3. O MI GAWD, I think this is HYSTERICAL, although not a good idea to take to work - too many cat FANATICS there, I will buy one and keep it at home, and maybe buy a few that I will give as gifts to those cat lovers that have a sense of cat humor as I do. Come ON people, life is too short not to LAUGH!
Mia @ Jun 17th 2007 8:11AM
C'mon, it's funny. I have a dog and if anyone had a doggie sharpener I would buy it.
Rich @ Jun 17th 2007 8:21AM
Sorry Bill, I have to disagree with you and let me say I am not a hater of any animal. Over the years I have had many different creatures co-habitate with me. I see one cat, only one, roaming our neighborhood and a very clean one at that. I've never seen it poop or piss in anyone's yard. As far as cats pooping and pissing all over you are way off. On any given day I see at least 10 dogs pissing or crapping in our front yard led on leashes by their inconsiderate owners. Who ever said it was ok to walk your dog and let it piss or crap on your neighbor's yard? Let your dog do it's business WHERE YOU LIVE and not on your neighbor's property. Dog poop and piss stinks just as bad!!! Then there are the sneaky owners who do not even have the decency to pick up their dog's crap. As far as your "cats kill millions of birds and baby rabbits" comments goes, you are way off here too. I'd bet that cruel humans probably kill more. In my lifetime I've heard more people make more cruel remarks directed towards animals than I care to think about. Humans are, without a doubt, the dumbest, rudest and cruelest creatures on this planet and everyday it becomes more evident. Just look at how we treat one another. Ocasionally I would see a fox in our neighborhood....up until the night I heard gunshots down the block...some new moron with a gun moved into the neighborhood. He thought he was doing the neighborhood a favor I'm sure. Or he was making the neighborhood a little safer for his little doggie. That foxes babies were the cutest little things. If you've ever see a fox outside of a zoo you'd know that they want nothing to do with you and will run the other way when they see you. The same is true of coyotes...I'll sum it up for you...animals don't belong in cages...if you see a stray....LEAVE IT ALONE....IT WILL GO HOME. Have a little respect for all of nature.
Susan @ Jun 17th 2007 8:26AM
Unfortunately something like this encourages people who are cruel to cats. They are beautiful creatures and very affectionate. I do not dislike dogs, but if you haven't accidentally stepped in a dog's 'excrement,' you haven't lived!!!!! This can be found all over the streets in London!! Also in parks where dogs are taken to 'run,' where, if you are very lucky, you may sit in some!
However, if a 'dog' pencil sharpener is given equal time, I may forgive the perpetrator of the 'cat' pencil sharpener. No doubt there will be one. In any case, they are both God's creatures, as are we, and should be treated well.
Johanna @ Jun 17th 2007 8:40AM
YOU ARE SO RIGHT JOHN BORUFF, RE-YOUR COMMENT...."People who don't like cats are missing out on very loyal and loving pets who have distinct personalities" AND YOU ARE SO WRONG BILL! IN REF. TO YOUR COMMENT BILL,.... "cats kill millions of song birds and baby rabbits. My dogs are kept in my yard by an invisable fence. They dont roam the neighborhood to pee and poop in everybody elses yard." WE HAVE TWO CATS WHO ARE VERY LOYAL AND SO VERY LOVING, AND -YES- TWO VERY DISTINCT PERSONALITIES. THEY ARE INDOOR CATS WHO DON'T "KILL" ALTHOUGH SPEAKING UP FOR OUTDOOR CATS, THEY DO WHAT COMES NATURAL AND BY INSTINCT. MY NEIGHBOURS ALL HAVE DOGS, WHO "POOP AND PEE IN EVERYBODY'S YARD" AND, OH, YES, WHEN SMALLER ANIMALS WANDER INTO THEIR YARDS THEY KILL! SO GOING BACK TO THE LAST PART OF JOHN'S COMMENT..."Not every cat is a good pet, just as every dog is not a good pet and not every human is a good friend. But some are exceptional."
amanda @ Jun 17th 2007 8:44AM
I can't believe this cute, silly-ass thing has turned into a forum for ranting about dogs vs. cats. C'mon... it's a funny household object! What happened to everyone's sense of humor!?!
Liz @ Jun 17th 2007 9:04AM
Don, I thought John Boruff's comments re Bush were exquisitely accurate.
Donna @ Jun 17th 2007 9:06AM
I'm a major cat lover, but I have a sense of humor. I'd love to have that sharpener! I'm pretty sure that most of the people I know would get a kick out of it, too. Lighten up, people! Cats and dogs both eat meat. (How do you think their species' have survived? And, how do you think we humans lasted this long???) Chill!
debra @ Jun 17th 2007 9:10AM
I love cats i have about 10,use have dogs.i thought it was funny what the person said about her x.make one like him.lol
Terry @ Jun 17th 2007 9:13AM
Bill, there is something worse than the "scent" of a cat's feces and that is the "sight" of a dog eating theirs!
Cindy @ Jun 17th 2007 9:28AM
I think this is the cutest thing, I'm a animal lover vetinary assistant who owns A female cockatiel 3 loving cats that have so far no interest in my cockatiel and a male sheltie. I would buy this pencil sharpener for sure. on the argument of dogs vs. cats doing their business outdoors, cats are usually territorial and will keep going back to the same place and bury it's feces after it's done whereas a dog will just go anywhere. As far as killing birds and rabbits humans have trained dogs to do just that, humans take dogs for bird hunting and have even bred dogs down in size to go in rabbit holes and other small animal dens such as foxes and small rodents and kill them. A cat does it on instinct to servive and eat not because it's on of our sports, or games. What's our excuse for breeding dogs to do the same as a cat? We humans have distroyed whole habitates and species of animals, birds and plants in the name of ignorance, greed, and wealth.
Tim @ Jun 17th 2007 9:49AM
Some cats DO eat songbirds and baby rabbits. Some dogs DO eat rabbits and squirrels. Both DO use other peoples yards as bathrooms. GW IS an illiterate flake. People who have to attack other people online ARE idiots. ALL crap stinks. PEOPLE do have to start CRAP in other peoples yards, and countries. I think the sharpener is funny.
