6. Office Accounting Express: Organize Your Books

Got a small business and need to keep your costs down? You're in luck: Microsoft's Office Accounting Express 2007 -- an accounting suite released late last year -- is utterly, completely free. The program is quite full-featured: It can create price quotes and invoices, track expenses, manage payrolls, produce detailed reports, post items and track auctions on eBay, send PayPal invoices, and a whole lot more. It's Windows-only, unfortunately, but it is very, very free -- and for that we cannot complain.
