5. Picnik: Edit Your Photos
Okay, so you've got, say, Flickr or AOL Pictures to get your photos online, but how about a tool to actually make them look good? Picnik (still in beta, but more or less fully functional) lets you edit your photos online: Crop, rotate, remove red-eye, fix underexposed shots, up the contrast, or remove your friend Ted from the shot altogether. Loads of effects are available, and there's nothing to install on your computer whatsoever. It works on Mac, Windows, and Linux machines, and lets you upload photos from a host of different photo sharing sites. Intrigued yet?

also, take a look at picasa2. i'm having a great time editing my photos, creating collages, etc with this free program.

I like it... easy to use and has most of the editing tools I like... also seriously easy to navigate. I'm impressed. Better than spending money for a photo editing software.
