Xbox 360 Elites Showing Up Dead on Arrival

Microsoft's new high-end gaming console, the Xbox 360 Elite, finally made its way to store shelves this weekend. Unfortunately, it seems some of them are showing up dead on arrival, according to various reports on message boards. The usual symptoms that have haunted 360s since launch are there: The console turns on, doesn't boot up, and then displays the much-feared red-colored Rings of Death on the startup button (see photo). Hopefully this isn't a bigger problem and we've only heard the isolated cases. We'll be keeping our eyes open for more reports of bad Elites.
