Gaming This Weekend 4.27.07
It looks like we're in for a rainy Spring weekend at the Switched headquarters. That means lots of gaming and lots of quality time with the sofa. In honor of our Lord Lazy, we feature three games that don't even require going outdoors to the game shop -- they're all downloadable on your Wii, PS3, or 360. Happy vegging!'Punch-Out!!' On Nintendo Virtual Console
Some of you may remember this one, some of you may not. Either way, this Nintendo classic is back on the Wii's Virtual Console, and if you miss it (or missed it the first time around), you can't lose on this download. For 500 Wii Points (about $5), you can download this retro title and re-experience all the fun, controller-throwing frustration in true-to-the-classic form. If you loved the original, you'll love this one -- it's the same game.
'Ninja Gaiden Sigma' on Sony Store
Want something free? If you have a PS3, you can download the new 'Ninja Gaiden Sigma' demo and see what's coming for this re-released upgrade of the much-loved action game (originally titled 'Ninja Gaiden'). Keep in mind this game is insanely challenging, and therefore that much more satisfying when you finally bring down some of the tougher mobs of enemies.
'Eets' on Live
'Eets' came out in 2006 on the PC and quickly became one of the most-beloved indie releases of the year. This puzzler/action game is tough to describe, but fans will tell you that you just gotta try it. This week, you can download 'Eets: Chowdown' on the Xbox 360's LIVE Arcade marketplace. It will run you 800 points (around $12.50) for the full version, but you can grab the demo for free and see if you dig it. We have a feeling you will.
Still Looking for a Wii?
For those of you still looking for a Wii, we reported earlier this week that some GameStops appear to be hoarding shipments for Sunday morning. Get in line, and good luck!
