Update: Don't Mess With Mandel

It seems our post concerning 'Deal or No Deal' host Howie Mandel's denied request for an iPod case has reached the very upper-echelon of management at case manufacturer, Pelican. None other than the company's CEO, Lyndon Faulkner, has reached out to the journalist who put in the original request on Mandel's behalf.

And get this: Not only is Howie getting his case, but Faulkner claims to "enjoy Howie Mandel's work and would love him to have an iPod case." The full olive branch follows.

Dear Michael, thank you for contacting me, I am sorry your experience with getting some free product looks to have had some obstacles.

We are always happy to support serious reviews about our products, although we do have a process of formally requesting such product out of our facility here in California.

I think that was Keith's positioning in his response to you and please don't misinterpret our position, we are actually inundated everyday with such requests for review, samples, celebrities, Military, ETC ETC.

I would ask that such requests be channeled through here where they can be considered in association with the thousands of other requests.

I will be happy to consider any request you have for our cases and to support your review of our product.

What were you actually looking for to review?

Also, I enjoy Howie Mandel's work and would love him to have an iPod case.

Where should I send them? I would like to include a short note...

Thank you for contacting me.

Lyndon Faulkner
