No 'Deal' for Howie Mandel

No 'Deal' for Howie Mandel
Hosting your own prime time cash-giveaway bonanza apparently isn't all it's cracked up to be. While celebutantes Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, et al. have no trouble scoring free, diamond-encrusted Sidekicks and BlackBerrys, Deal or No Deal from T-Mobile and other companies (better-known as "swag"), host Howie Mandel can't even pry a lousy iPod case from the greedy hands of case-maker Pelican. Below is an email exchange between Pelican and tech journalist Michael Somner, in which Somner is denied a request on behalf of his famous friend, the Howster. (Read until the end, it's worth it! Or, skip to it here)

Please send me a 1510 Carry On Case (with padding) and (1) i1030 and a(1) i1010 both in black for Howie. I will see Howie next weekend here in FL, so if I can get them by then that would be great.

Thanks,
Michael H. Sommer

Keith,

Do you know if this was shipped yet?

Thanks,

Michael

Keith,

Did you forget about me?

No I didn't. I actually just found out that my boss didn't OK my shipment and that's why it didn't go out. They weren't convinced of the value of sending cases to Howie Mandel.

UPDATE: Pelican makes amends with ol' Howie.
