Knight Rider's KITT For Sale

KITT and Hasselhoff

Few things symbolize the ultimate in 80s technology more than the Knight Industries Two Thousand, better known to Hasselhoff fans of the world as just KITT. KITT was a modified 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, painted black, laced with lights and doo-dads, then finally graced with a sweeping red "scanner" on the hood. Only Four KITT models were made for the Knight Rider series, and one of them is up for sale at an impressive $149,995.

A mint condition 1982 Trans Am would normally set you back less than $2,000. Johnny Verhoek, current owner of the car, is thinking that nostalgia and a collection of phony gadgets on the dash will make up for the $147,995 difference. If the price doesn't scare you off, and if you don't mind that 16 mpg EPA rating on the window sticker, there's one last thing to consider before making this not-so-impulse buy: KITT's annoyingly saucy attitude. Just imagine that every day during your morning commute.
