Halo 2 Getting New Life with Old Maps

If there's one thing gamers like more than new games, it's remakes of old games, and Microsoft is hoping the same idea holds true for new and old content. The company, together with developers Bungie and Certain Affinity, has announced that it is updating two of the most popular Halo maps and will be releasing them as downloadable content for Halo 2. The first, Hang 'em High, has been "re-imagined" as Tombstone, and will feature graphical updates, of course, as well as "a few hidden surprises." The other is called Desolation, a new version of the former Derelict, apparently receiving a "massive gameplay overhaul" to make it a little more playable for serious shooter fans.

The pair will be included in a $4 bundle (no confusing MS points here), releasing on April 17th for both the original Xbox and the 360. Not a bad bargain, and it might just be enough to keep Halo purists happy until Halo 3 drops this fall.
